FAQ
What is Maplelixir ?
You can reach us by phone, email, or live chat, depending on what works best for you.
Is it the same as honey?
Not quite. While it’s made by bees and harvested from the comb, our Maplelixir is the result of bees beingfed maple syrup instead of floral nectar. This gives it a completely different taste profile — a deep, buttery sweetness with gentle maple notes — and a unique composition that sets it apart from conventional honey.
Is it processed or heat-treated?
No — our elixir ishand-harvested directly from the combandkept in its natural state. We do not apply heat treatments or additional processing. This helps preserve the product’s natural texture, flavour, and nutritional integrity.
Where does it come from?
All of our Maplelixir is produced inQuébec, Canada, using maple syrup sourced from local maple groves. Our hives are located in pristine forest environments, surrounded by clean air and wild vegetation, ensuring the highest quality product.
Is it safe for children or pets?
Like any beehive product, it should not be given to children under one year old.Always consult your veterinarian before feeding any sweetener to pets.
Is your maple syrup used to feed the bees locally sourced?
Yes! We use high-quality, locally harvested Canadian maple syrup to feed our bees, ensuring both sustainability and authenticity in every jar
How do you ensure the health of the bees during this process?
Bee health is our top priority. Maple syrup is only given during specific times when natural nectar is scarce. It’s a safe, energy-rich supplement, and our beekeepers monitor the hives closely to maintain strong, healthy colonies.
Can I use it the same way as regular honey or maple syrup?
Definitely! Maplelixir is perfect for sweetening tea, spreading on toast, drizzling over yogurt, or using in recipes. Its unique flavour also makes it a great gift or gourmet addition to cheese boards and desserts.
Is this product available year-round?
Quantities may be limited depending on the season and bee activity. Because it's a specialty product, availability can vary. Be sure to check our shop or subscribe for restock updates!
How should I store it?
Store in acool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Because it’s a natural beehive product, it may gently crystallize over time — simply warm the jar slightly in lukewarm water and stir to restore its smooth consistency.
